Sophia's first race...and hopefully not her last!

Last year I ran the " Leggin' It For Literacy" 5K....my first attempt at running...ever. I was very slow but reached my goal of not stopping! When this race came around again I asked Sophia if she wanted to do the 1 mile run and I would do it with her. The race was at 10:05 PM...yea that was late....but Sophia did soooo good! She didn't stop the whole time even though she wanted to! We made it across the finish line just above 10 minutes! Towards the end I was telling her "You can do this!" and she said " yea I know...that is what I have been telling myself too":)
I hope we can do this again Sophia!

Tagged!

A blog friend (is it OK to call you that?:) who has 4 adorable boys-which I (and Nate) would love to meet one day- tagged me today. Here are the rules to this tag... oh and her name is Rebecca:)!

1.Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share 6 nonimportant things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag 6 random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Ok...so here goes....

1. I can count on one hand how many times I have dusted in my life. That probably should be something that IS important in my life! Thank goodness no one in my family has allergies....wait...you mean my children shouldn't take benedryl as a vitamin?

2. I like the word idiosyncrasy.

3. I eat food off my floor.

4. I never had an idea of how many children I would have....but I always wanted an Asian baby...even before I married my Filippino.

5. I had a rat-tail in High School and occasionally would shave lines in the side of my head....total redneck thing to do isn't it!

6. I am embarrassed by that memory and am a little suprised I am writing it out for everyone to see!

So here are the lucky people I am tagging!

Trudy thewalkerpad.blogspot.com ( who is my sister and best friend! i know Rachel already tagged you so now you can kill 2 tags with one post!)
Sophia sophiavillamor.blogspot.com (who is my favorite almost 9 year old and who I get the pleasure of seeing every single day!!;)
Wendy lifewithducks.blogspot.com (who I admire for many reasons and who has 4 adorable children I also hope to meet one day!)
Julie randyandjuliesidwell.blogspot.com (whose family was our best friends while living in Dublin, Ga and who started a blog recently... and who also has 5 adorable children of which I got to know and love the oldest 2!...and i hope to meet the others next Christmas!!)
Natalie luckyshirts.blogspot.com (who was my 2nd counselor;) when I was YW President and who just had a cute baby...who I got to meet last week!)
Jordan shawnandjordanmetcalf.blogspot.com (who is a very accomplished dancer and who I loved watching dance-so graceful! I loved watching her grow up and can't believe she is MARRIED!)

Ok...off to tag these people!

( i just tried clicking on all my people and it won't pull up their blogs....so just click on their names in my sidebar to view their blogs...hopefully I have everyone on there!)

New Floors

Ever since we finished our floors in the kitchen (back in May) I was planning to do the floors in our sunroom during our fall break in October. Well as the time grew closer I would have rather been camping but knew we needed to get that project DONE! So Richard took off those 2 days to help me. Trudy and her 2 kids came down for the weekend since it was also their fall break. They knew what they were coming into but wanted to come anyway. I was thinking Forrest would be able to help but Sadie and Trudy helped as well! We started laying the tile on Friday after lunch and finished Saturday night! (finished laying the tile that is....I still had the grout to do on Monday but it was so nice to relax on Sunday knowing we only had grouting left!) I couldn't have done it without all their help!

Not sure what job I had Sadie do here...maybe she was cleaning the tiles after they had set for 24 hours. This is a very messy job....as you can see. It tears up your fingers as well...OUCH!

Forrest and Ryan have been getting together whenever Trudy comes for a visit and instead of Fo spending the night with Ryan we had Ryan come over to our house. Too bad because we put him to work! ha! It was very nice to have 2 strong teenagers to carry the 50 pound bags of thinset and all those boxes of tile! Oh...and they were a big help getting this TV cabinet into the other room!

I need to take a pic of the finished floor but here it is without the grout. (check out Trudy's post about her Fall Break and see some other pictures)
It was SOOOOOOO nice to have Trudy and her family here to help. What a time-saver and sanity-saver they were. This is such a hard job and I can see why the professionals charge $4-5000 to do a room like this! We messed up in a couple of places but we did the best we could! I don't mind the mistakes...it gives the room character! And look how much money we saved!

Siblings

Today Sophia woke up feeling sick-headache and sore throat. I decided to keep her home from church and since Richard was already gone Nate decided he would stay home with us instead of riding with our friends.
We *try* not to watch too much TV on Sunday and since her head was hurting Sophia was wondering what she could do in the bed. Nate came up with the idea taking the laptop into the bed and they could both play games together. I was about to get on the computer to do some blogging but how could I tell him "no i need the computer now".
What a sweet gesture from a little brother! He is so sweet!

out AGAIN!

Well...I am finding it VERY hard to even care where this little rodent is this time. I found the cap to his cage in our bedroom. The kids didn't remove it and Sophia said she has seen Sammers trying to get out from that hole before! That little smart rat!

He better not be chewing up anything in our walls!

Sucker born every day!

A few weeks ago someone rearended me in our little '94 Honda Civic. The damage was minor but more than the car was worth so it was considered "totalled"....which seems funny to me:)
So we are in the market for another Civic. I was looking on Craigslist yesterday and this 2004 Civic caught my attention. I got a little suspicious after seeing on kbb.com that the real value of this car is over $10, 000 and they were asking less than 4? I emailed to see how many miles were on it since they didn't disclose that in the ad. Here is the reply I got last night:
First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I sell it at this price ($ 3,860.00) because i'm in a divorce with my husband. When the divorce will be finished this car will be my property. Now as a women i don't need it. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title. From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services. We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20,000.00The final price that I want for this car is($ 3860.00) including shipping and handling. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.I will wait your answer very soon.
I quickly sent in my information and SS# just in case.....JUST KIDDING! I replied with this address:

Escape Again?

I have so much I need to write about but don't have time right now....but just wanted to share what I found in the trashcan this morning!

I went over to throw something away and noticed the garbage bag was not on all the way. As I ws reaching in to fix it I saw Sammers! My first thought was "how could he get in the trash can" and my second thought was "good thing Stella didn't get him!" and my third thought was "i have got to move his cage so little fingers don't provide escape routes for him!". This is not the first time he has esaped!
